About the Institute...

The French Institute was founded by its current director, Mme Brigitte Demay O`Carroll, in 2005. Its location on the second floor of the Bridge Mills is traditionally associated with the teaching of French in Galway as it housed the Alliance Française de Galway Ltd  until its closure.

The French Institute's mission is to offer the highest standards of French Courses and Services to its customers and to promote the French language and culture in Ireland. 

Founder & Director - Brigitte Demay O`Carroll

Brigitte is a graduate of Bordeaux University. She arrived in Ireland in 1980 and shortly afterwards joined the Alliance Française de Galway. Brigitte worked as one of the Alliance's principal teachers, teaching French to adults of all ages and to secondary school students. During her 25 years at the Alliance, she acquired extensive experience of teaching methods and became highly knowledgable of the French curriculum and exam requirements at Secondary level in Ireland. Brigitte founded the French Institute where she put in place a modern school with a dynamic, experienced and friendly team.
