Halloween Intensive Courses for Leaving Cert and Junior Cert

The courses are given by the native French teachers of the French Institute, all highly experienced in the preparation of the Leaving and Junior Cert Examinations.


SMALL CLASSes (4-10 students)

(a minimum of 4 students is required to run a course)

 

LEAVING CERTIFICATE 2024

Dates:

October 31st - November 3rd

4 days: Tuesday to Friday

Times: 10am - 1pm.

12 hours overall

Cost: 180 Euros

Programme:

All aspects of the exam will be covered. Detailed and clear handouts are provided, and practice of all skills is an essential part of the course. All assignments corrected.

A Grammar Revision:
  • Structures and tenses needed for the oral and written productions.

  • Recognition of grammatical terms for the reading comprehensions.

The Oral Exam: 

  • Topics: review of all main general and abstract topics, such as yourself and your family, pastimes, school, holidays, weekends, social problems, issues related to student life and so on.

  • Communication: developing fluency.

  • Pronunciation: the right accent.

  • Vocabulary: essential 'lexique', key words and phrases.

  • Avoiding the main mistakes.

  • 'Le document': the best way to approach it.

The Written Production:

Vocabulary, samples and practice.

  • Opinion pieces
  • Narrative
  • Reactions
  • Diary entries
  • Emails 

The Written Comprehension:

Method, tips and practice.

The Oral Comprehension (Aural):

Method, tips and practice, as well as recurrent vocabulary.

 

 

 

 



 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

      

JUNIOR CERTIFICATE 2024       

Dates:

October 31st - November 3rd

4 days: Tuesday to Friday

Times: 2 - 4 pm.

8 hours overall

Cost: 130 Euros

Programme:

All aspects of the exam will be  covered. Detailed and clear handouts are provided, and practice of all skills is an essential part of the course. All assignments corrected.

  • Revision of essential grammar points and general vocabulary.

  • Developing listening skills for aural comprehensions.

  • Mastering "productions écrites" ie letters, postcards, and notes.

  • Improving reading comprehension skills.
